480 INDONESIAN TRIBES
Indonesia is a country that has the most tribes in the world. The diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia is formed due to the geographical location of Indonesia which consists of thousands of islands apart from a few large islands. Then apart from that, the natural conditions that in ancient times consisted of vast expanses of wilderness, high mountains, and rivers and lakes that made the number of tribes countless. Apart from several tribes, Indonesia also consists of several ethnic groups. However, here the admin only discusses tribes.
The following are the ethnic groups in Indonesia based on the location of the province. Some and maybe most of these tribes are currently domiciled and have spread to other areas in Indonesia, but below the admin describes the location of the original villages of these tribes. Some provinces even have the same tribe, so that in the grouping below, there are several tribes that have their original villages in two or three provinces, even on one island.
