Who is the President of Indonesia?

The President of Indonesia is a presidential system of government in this country since Indonesia's independence in 1945. This presidential system ended the previous system of government in the form of kingdoms.

The first president was Ir. Sukarno. He was the proclaimer who proclaimed the independence of the Indonesian nation. Then Suharto, who was the elected president of a political party, won the General Election (Election). After that, President Suharto who was his deputy, namely BJ. Habibie. After serving several years, then replaced by Gusdur or KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, who was elected by voting by the MPR. Next is Ms. Megawati Soekarno Putri. After that the presidential election was directly elected by the people, and Mr. Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the elected president. Then Mr Jokowi until now.

1.IR. SOEKARNO
  • The First President of the Republic of Indonesia (1945 - 1966).
  • The First President was born in Blitar, East Java, June 6, 1901.
  • Education taken by him: HIS in Surabaya, HBS (Hoogere Burger School), Graduated in 1920.
  • Obtained Degree: Ir (Engineer), from THS Technische Hoogeschool or Higher Technical School which is now ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology).
  • Before Indonesia's independence, he along with others struggled through the political path. Among them founded the Indonesian National Party (PNI).
  • On August 17, 1945, together with Mohammad Hatta, he proclaimed Indonesian Independence.
  • Together with several leaders of Asian and African countries, held a meeting in Bandung called the Asia-Africa Conference.
  • This Great Hero of the Proclaimer of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia Died On June 21, 1970, he was buried in Blitar, East Java.

2. JEND TNI (PURN) H.M. SOEHARTO
  • The Second President of the Republic of Indonesia (1966 - 1998).

3. PROF. Dr. ING. BACHARUDDIN JUSUF HABIBIE
  • The Third President of the Republic of Indonesia (1998 - 1999).
  • The Third President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 1998 - 1999 Service Period was born at: Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi, 25 June 1936.
  • After graduating from elementary and junior high school in Pare-Pare, he then continued to high school and university in Bandung.
  • He received a scholarship to Germany and earned an Ing Diploma Degree from the Technische Hochehue in 1960.
  • Five Years Later He Received a Doctoral Degree in Ing (1965).

4. K.H. Dr. ABDURRAHMAN WAHID

  • The Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia (1999 - 2001).
  • The Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia for the Service Period 1999 -2001 was born in Jombang, East Java, August 4, 1940.
  • After completing his education at the Tambak Beras Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, he then continued his education at Al-Azar University, Cairo, Egypt.


The Last Career:

  2. Founder of the Ciganjur Islamic Boarding School (Started 1984);

  • The First Woman President in Indonesia, Born in Yogyakarta. January 23, 1947.
  • Elementary to high school education at Cikini College;
  • Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University (1965 -1967);
  • Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia (1970 - 1972);
  • Received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan (29 September 2001).
